While the MTV Movie Awards are an annual bash that people are used to, on Sunday night, the very first MTV Movie & TV Awards aired. Despite the inclusion of a variety of TV programs, the dress code for the show was the same 'ol, same ol: bold and bright. While many award show dress codes require the best and most beautiful gowns, fun shows like this one are all about being daring and playing with textures and colors. There were all sorts of slits, sequins and satins and playful hairstyles. And while everyone turned heads, our eyes were on the women of color who hit the red carpet. Here are some of the best and boldest MTV Movie & TV Award fashions from Black women at last night's event.
